Senior Marine Diesel Technician – Caterpillar Yacht Engines
Senior Marine Diesel Technician in Dubai: diagnose, maintain and completely overhaul Caterpillar engines for luxury yachts and superyachts. Earn up to €8,000 per month plus overtime and international project allowances, with a company car, health insurance, visa sponsorship and relocation flight.
The role
Are you a true specialist in Caterpillar marine diesel engines? We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Marine Diesel Technician to join a specialist marine engineering company based in Dubai.
This is not a position for a general mechanic. We are looking for a hands-on technical expert who knows Caterpillar marine engines inside out. Someone who can independently diagnose complex problems, perform major engine overhauls, rebuild engines from the ground up and deliver exceptional technical service to luxury yachts and superyachts.
You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and complete overhaul of Caterpillar marine diesel engines. You will independently manage technical assignments on board, communicate professionally with clients and support international service projects when required.
Responsibilities
- Performing complete engine overhauls, rebuilds and major mechanical repairs;
- Diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and engine-performance issues;
- Disassembling, inspecting, measuring, repairing and reassembling marine diesel engines;
- Servicing and maintaining Caterpillar propulsion engines and auxiliary power units;
- Working on cylinder heads, pistons, liners, crankshafts, bearings, fuel-injection systems and turbochargers;
- Conducting engine inspections, preventive maintenance and performance testing;
- Identifying root causes of mechanical failures and recommending effective long-term solutions;
- Independently managing technical assignments on board luxury yachts and superyachts;
- Supporting international service projects when required;
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service.
Skills
- Extensive professional experience as a Marine Diesel Technician, Marine Service Engineer or Marine Engine Overhaul Specialist;
- Strong hands-on expertise with Caterpillar marine diesel engines;
- Proven experience performing complete engine overhauls and rebuilds;
- Excellent mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills;
- Ability to work independently without constant technical supervision;
- Experience working on yachts, superyachts or other marine vessels;
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings and service documentation;
- A professional, reliable and solution-oriented approach;
- Good English communication skills;
- Willingness to travel internationally for overseas projects when required.
We are particularly interested in experience with Caterpillar C32, C15, C13, C3, C4, 3306, 3412, 3516, 399 and 398 engines. You do not need experience with every model listed, but you must have substantial practical experience with Caterpillar marine engines and be confident performing complex mechanical work independently. Proven technical expertise and practical experience are valued more than formal qualifications.
